Welcome to Applications - Pole Barns

Equipment Selection: Lower to mid-size BTU tube heaters are preferred.  The use of vacuum systems is not recommended due to the limited sizes of most pole barns.  Heaters are typically controlled via a thermostat.

Installation: Most normal size pole barns can usually be heated with 1-2 heaters.  Suggested length is between 20 to 40 feet.  Heaters longer than 40 feet usually have a higher temperature differential, so using two shorter heaters is suggested.  Burner boxes should be placed close to overhead doors.  Vehicle/equipment parking should be taken into account when reviewing clearance to combustibles for placing heaters.  It may be necessary to place heaters at the sidewall and rotate the reflectors inward.  Outside air and sidewall venting is recommended.
