Portable Heater Repair Information

Consult the portable infra-red construction heater's IOM (Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manual) for applicable warnings, operation, lighting, shutdown and specific maintenance instructions.






A heater with the following condition may be returned to Detroit Radiant Products for repair.

Symptom:	Fuel mixture burning within the rayhead assembly (behind ceramic surface).
Identified By:	No orange glow on ceramic surface (and/or abnormal noise) while operating.
Immediate Action:	Turn off heater.
Possible Cause:	Cracked ceramics, loose ceramics, missing gasket material or other physical abuses.
Corrective Action:	Replace rayhead assembly or return to Detroit Radiant Products for repair.

Repair cost is $30.00 + return freight for a P-16T Model and $37.00 + return freight for the P-32T Model.  Units can be returned COD via UPS or FedEx Ground (additional fees for COD service will apply). 

The preferred method of payment is Credit Card in which case include a valid credit card number along with name on card and expiration date. The alternate payment method is personal check.  Please make check payable to Detroit Radiant Products Company for the repair cost amount and include an additional $18.00 for return shipping and handling costs.

Do not include the mounting accessories (tank, hose, bracket, regulator, etc.). Be sure to enclose the heater (packaged tightly), payment information, the return address and a contact phone number.  If your heater requires work in addition to burner reconstruction, you will be contacted with a quote.  Lead-time is 2-5 working days.
