Infrared Heat Applications by Industry
Use radiant heat in a variety of hard-to-heat applications.
Re-Verber-Ray® infrared heaters efficiently and inexpensively provide heating for a wide variety of facilities.
A well-designed system using gas-fired infrared heaters is highly fuel efficient since it heats objects and people directly.
Gas-fired industrial heaters, infrared heaters heat efficiently and economically because they heat exactly what needs to be warm: people, floors, walls and other surfaces, instead of the air. Infrared energy provides an instant warming effect, similar to what the sun does when it emerges from the clouds on a chilly day.
Gas-fired infrared is perfectly suited to heat buildings with large volumes of air or high rates of air movement, where convection (or air heating) methods are grossly ineffective.
In an enclosed building, objects absorb the infrared energy that’s emitted. Once absorbed, that energy is converted into heat which, in turn, warms the surrounding air. With convection space heating, the air must first be heated and then circulated to warm objects and people.
Factories, foundries, aircraft hangars, warehouses and other similar buildings showcase convection heating’s shortcomings. Heating the total mass of air volume in the space is simply not necessary. By contrast, a well-designed system using gas-fired infrared heaters creates a high degree of fuel-utilization efficiency, since it heats objects and people directly.
Radiant tube heaters are widely used in swine, poultry, brooder and dairy applications because they have proven operating benefits.
High-intensity heaters are usually easier to install and less costly for spot-heating situations. They are especially suited to heat buildings that are poorly insulated, loosely constructed, have high ceiling heights and/or high heat loss per square foot.
Every infrared heater installation is unique and presents its own obstacles. Our experienced representatives will apply their expertise to your specific challenges, whether they are functional or structural. That’s why Re-Verber-Ray® infrared heaters and heating products efficiently and inexpensively provide heating for a wide variety of facilities.
